- Elected in 2012 as a member of the CCSD
- Created two new committees; Strategic Education Committee (SEC) and Transportation & Operations Committee (formerly known as the Transportation Committee)

- Currently serving as CCSD’s liaison for the Head Start /Early Head Start grant since 2012

- Since 2003, Free School Supply Giveaway serving over 50,000 under-served students and 35 Title-1 schools
- 2016 Co-founder of Teach the Need, a high school based initiative designed to prepare students to work in high-in restaurants
- 2017-2018 Volunteer soccer coach at Military Magnet Academy and former volunteer soccer coach at Burke High School 1995
- Elder with Charleston Youth Leadership Council “Beau Affair Program” over 10 years
- 2010 Coordinated and partnered with DHEC, Project Chess, Office of Minority Affairs & MUSC to start a year long health initiative called “Real Men Checkin it Out”. Thru this program over 200 men were screened for prostate cancer for Free.
- 2009 provided lunch to 566 Charleston County High School Title-1 teachers
